I believe we should bring all our troops home now.
As your U.S Senator, I would not agree to send our American military into prolonged wars without Congress first declaring a declaration of war.
When I was 18 years old, in 1968, I did not support the Vietnam war. I did not serve, but if I had been drafted, I would have served my country. It is obvious the government did not stand by their troops when thousands of our patriotic young men were being killed.
The use of our military should always be the last resort, and for self-defense. But many hawkish politicians have no problem sending our young men to die, while hardly ever send their sons and daughters to fight.
America has lost too many good friends and family members to these needless wars.
